Aspire to Achieve Program
The Aspire to Achieve Program reinforces the Foundation's mission of "Hurdles Are Stepping Stones To Success" by encouraging young people to overcome barriers through education, sports and mentorship. It's designed to motivate and inspire students from disadvantaged backgrounds in rural Machakos through academic merit awards, sports excellence awards, and positive role modeling as they progress from primary school to secondary school, tertiary institutions, and universities. These students face financial hardship, limited learning resources, lack positive role models and have few opportunities for recognition, and this often leads to low motivation, poor academic performance, school dropouts, and untapped talent.
The program recognizes approximately top 10% students in grade 6 and 9 who demonstrate outstanding achievement in one or more of the following categories:
-
Best Academic Performer
-
Best Sports Performer
-
Best Balanced Student (Academics & Sports)
-
Most Disciplined Student
-
Best Role Model
-
Best Student Leader
-
Most Empathetic Student
-
Most Improved Student (Academics or Sports)
-
Most Clean and Well-Groomed Student
The goal of this program is to recognize and reward hard work, encourage a culture of academic excellence and sportsmanship, and inspire learners to pursue their education and talents with determination. The expected outcomes include improved student motivation and school attendance, higher academic achievement, increased participation in sports, reduced school dropout rates, stronger self-confidence, and the identification and nurturing of future leaders, scholars, and athletes.
The Foundation invites you to partner with us in expanding the Aspire to Achieve Program so that more deserving students can be recognized, mentored, inspired, and equipped to become the next generation of leaders.
